As part of your internship/attachment to work with a US company such as
Google, Microsoft Corporation, Goldman Sachs, Apple and Facebook, you have
been asked by a foreign based recruitment company to develop a personal website
to examine your web based competency. Below are the features of the website:
a. A Home page with a visually appealing view showing:
i. A slider of at least 3 images about yourself at work, in school or
engaging in a community activity.
ii. An excerpt of at least 30 words information about yourself and
career objectives with a read more link to an About Me page.
iii. An image and some content about the courses you are pursuing in
school this semester.
iv. A preview of your calendar of activities for the rest of the year.
v. At least 3 testimonials of what people say about you with regards to
your work ethic.
b. About Me page with details of:
i. Educational Qualifications, School and Year of Graduating.
ii. Working Experience (Including previous attachments/Internships),
position occupied, duties and responsibilities and period
iii. Seminars and Conferences attended, including type of conference,
place and period.
iv. Leadership positions held. This should include, Title of position,
organization and period.
v. Details of information on any Community/Voluntary Service have
been engaged in.
vi. List of hobbies, interest and personal aspirations.
c. A Reference page which contains the images, names and contacts of your
referees. List at least 3 referees.
d. Photo Gallery page containing at least 10 images about yourself.
e. Documents page containing images of your certifications and other
relevant document that can be used for your acceptance into the internship
programme.
f. Contact Me page which contains a form with the following
i. Name
ii. Subject
iii. Email
iv. Phone
v. Message
vi. Submit and Reset Button
g. The website should contain social media handles of the candidate either at
the header section or the footer section. Include a personal logo on the
website with a good colour scheme.
h. The website should have your student id and name boldly written on the
home page for easy identification.
i. The website should be developed solely with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Creativity, clarity and professionalism will attract more marks. No content
management systems and CSS frameworks such as WordPress, Joomla,
Drupal and Bootstrap must be used for this project. The use of CMS or
CSS frameworks will result in total cancelation of the project.
j. The website must be uploaded on a live server with the URL sent to your
various class reps to be submitted for assessment and marking.
