How to edit parameters of x3d viewer

This is a project for displaying archeological models in x3d.

May someone give direction with editing some of the built in parameters of the x3d viewer.
I would like to add functionality to the d key with javascript, however the d key triggers some functions of the x3d viewer. My question is, is it possible to disable some of the x3d functionalities so the d key can be used exclusively for the javascript functions?

Log and mini viewer open when d key is pressed
Change css opacity parameters to zero Log does not appear on key press
The intention is to use the d key for user interaction so the mini viewer needs to be disabled
